Current Working Papers:
Work in progress:
- Investments into Prevention of Disasters: The Case of Earthquakes in California. Three-year funded NSF research grant (approved), 2006-2009.
-
Environmental Altruism, Evidence from Germany. This research uses a
unique 60GB data set of 'speeding behavior' on highways. I analyze ‘voluntary
speed limits’ employing a regression discontinuity design.
- The Impact of Drug Policies
on Crime. This work uses changes
in state precursor laws in 2005-2006 that limit access to ‘Sudafed’ to disentangle the effect of drug (methamphetamine) use on crime. See abstract, with G. Rafert, 2006.
